Cadence’s research has found that many thermal engineers are unhappy with traditional simulation packages. One reason is the slow speed at which many packages solve their simulations.
30% of thermal engineers must spend over a day building their simulation models
41% say that they will typically spend over an hour gridding their designs
66% of thermal engineers spend a day or more solving their simulations
An independent side-by-side comparison conducted by Rohde & Schwarz found it was faster at preparing the model, pre-processing & solving than a comparable thermal simulation SW.
Rohde and Schwarz created 12 thermal models of their equipment in Celsius & a competitor’s SW.
The competitor’s software failed to solve 7 of the 12 models. The remaining 5 were solved with “low detail”
Celsius solved all 12 models in “high detail”
The Celsius Thermal Solver utilizes innovative multi-physics technology to address challenges. By combining finite element analysis (FEA) for solid structures with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for fluids, Celsius enables complete system analysis in a single tool!
Its import tools are compatible with a wide range of mechanical & electronic CAD formats.
ECAD Import Formats: ODB++, IPC2581, IDF, IDX, XFL
CAD Import Formats: STL, STEP, IGES
Using its intelligent modelling objects, you can quickly create a thermal simulation of an electronics system:
Celsius’s Photorealistic Enhanced View can be used to display:
Temperatures, heat fluxes, airflow & other relevant results are reported on each intelligent modelling object. Data can be exported to CSV or Excel for further processing.
